No relevant match means no strong relevant matches were found. PEP — enhanced due diligence means a strong match on a PEP-type list. Flagged means a strong match on a prohibitive list such as sanctions, crime, wanted, or debarment.
Each scan includes one PDF download so reports stay tied to a deliberate export. If the download fails, a one-hour retry window lets you try again.
Yes. Chinese names are supported with exact matching and containment logic suited to CJK scripts, alongside Latin-script fuzzy matching for English and other Latin names.
No. Moon Scan is a name-screening aid. It is not legal, compliance, or regulatory advice, and a verdict is not a determination of identity or risk on its own.
The OpenSanctions mirror is refreshed daily. Each PDF report records the dataset version used for that scan.
